Launching fintech start-up as industry innovator

KISS PR executed a regional campaign to establish Money Mover as a disruptive innovator in the fintech sector.

The client

Money Mover is a Cambridge-based start-up which aims to disrupt in the fintech sector. It offers an online foreign currency exchange and global payments platform for SMEs and ‘mass affluent’ private individuals, aspiring to make global payments cheap, simple and transparent through the use of cutting edge technology.

Our challenge

Provide regional profile for Money Mover and CEO, Hamish Anderson

Stimulate interest for future external investment in the business

Communicate the advantages of Money Mover’s online currency exchange and global payments platform

The KISS solution

As a new start-up about to undertake a significant round of financing, Money Mover needed to quickly establish itself as a disruptive innovator in the fintech sector.

In order to achieve this we undertook a regional campaign, highlighting CEO and co-founder, Hamish Anderson’s solid track record in the banking and finance industry, and communicating Money Mover’s many stand-out features. This enabled us to differentiate from those well-known players in the global payments market.

Influential regional titles were targeted to engage with key business professionals in Cambridge and the rest of the East of England, resulting in the successful placement of several pieces of quality coverage, as well as an additional mention on the global online news site, Forbes.

.

Coverage was secured, both print and online in Business Weekly, and Cambridge News, including a double appearance in the ‘Working Day’ feature. Coverage also appeared in Anglia Business as a full page Q & A, as well as a feature on Cabume which was one of the news site’s most shared stories. The press releases communicated Money Mover’s launch as a Cambridge-based start-up, as well as its involvement as one of 50 founding members of a recently established fintech industry body. Opportunities to see in print reached 107,500, with opportunities to see online exceeding 175,000.

I was impressed with KISS’ friendly approach and pragmatic attitude. Their experience of working with the Cambridge technology cluster, and the strong relationships they have with the regional business press, has helped us to raise our profile within the East of England. This was invaluable as a new start-up, about to launch our web application. We look forward to continuing to work with KISS as we propagate our service more widely, and develop our brand.
