KISS makes an exhibition of itself

Designing and producing eye-catching exhibition stands to support UK companies both at shows abroad and at home is just one of the services KISS Communications offers. The East of England-based integrated agency has seen a growing demand amongst customers seeking to counteract the economic downturn by raising their profile through exhibition and events. One of its clients, Booking.com turned to KISS to design a dynamic and attention-grabbing stand when it exhibited recently at TUR in Göteborg, Sweden, the leading Scandinavian Trade Fair for travel, tourism and meetings at the Swedish Exhibition Centre. As Europe’s leading online hotel reservations agency by room night sold, attracting over 20 million unique visitors, Booking.com had a stand on the ‘Visit Britain’ section of the exhibition. KISS designed an impressive sweeping curved exhibition stand for this high profile four day exhibition, providing a focal point for the global travel trade to meet and network. Helen Piper, Partner Account Manager at Booking.com said, “KISS Communications always manages to deliver a creative, eye-catching and cost-effective solution. The concept the team came up with for TUR was a hit with the Booking.com team and gave us a real presence at this important European event.” Another KISS client, Plasti-kote, one of the world’s leading spray paint manufacturers also turned to the agency to create stands for two major trade exhibitions at Totally DIY at Earls Court in London and Ferra-Forma in Bilbao, Spain. “We created two stands for Plati-kote at Totally DIY, one central stand which was strategically placed in the exhibition hall and the other stand aimed at driving traffic to the main stand,” explains Richard Bland, Creative Director at KISS. “We had a number of key objectives to communicate via the stand including the launch to the trade of a new pan-European advertising campaign with the strapline: “The finish is so good, nobody believes I did it”, benefits of Plasti-kote and new product developments and innovations.” Richard continued, “The other exhibition was Ferra-Forma, the biggest DIY trade show in Spain. This was an interesting challenge for the KISS team as the stand had to be designed for a pan-European audience and we had to provide multi-lingual marketing collateral that would be given out to the trade.” Managing Director of KISS Communications,Simon Fryer, believes the agency’s experience of pan-European marketing has been crucial in the successful delivery of these projects, he explains. “We understand the cultural differences of working across Europe, and central to that is developing long term brand strategies for our clients to gain distribution and build sales.”
