The Spread the Energy competition was launched to encourage children’s sports teams to keep active throughout the winter. Teams will get the chance to win £1,000 of vouchers towards sports kit and equipment and meet long-jump Olympic champion Greg Rutherford.
With the aim to spread the word of the benefits of nutritious snacking, we commissioned consumer research to uncover teen’s snacking choices and how it affects their motivation to get out and active. We lined 19 radio stations up to interview Greg along with nutritionist, Dr Sarah Schenker to discuss the issue and talk about the campaign. Over 4.7 million listeners were reached throughout the UK, including national station, Talk Sport.
To get our message out across platforms we partnered with large mummy blogger network BritMums, to host a Twitter party, discussing how to get teens active throughout winter. The twitter party was a huge success, with #SpreadtheEnergy trending 10th in the UK and 11.9 million impressions from over 200 twitter users, including Greg Rutherford.
The campaign has already reached approximately 17 million people and we’re only half way through! Watch this space…
