A standout website for a world-class institute

Brief

The Rosalind Franklin Institute approached KISS to help realise its ambition for a flagship website. It needed a digital presence that would reflect the remarkable progress made since its launch in 2020 and support its goal of becoming a globally recognised centre for scientific research.

In just five years, the Institute had built a strong reputation for pioneering discovery. It was now ready to express its unique proposition and future direction through a website that matched the calibre of its work.

KISS was asked to design and build a site that would close the gap between the Institute’s activity and how it was presented online. The new site needed to reflect its ambition, strategic priorities and distinct approach.

Idea

We began by working with the Institute to define its brand purpose, refine key messages and shape its personality. A collaborative workshop with the Director and senior stakeholders enabled us to explore positioning options, agree on tone, and determine a clear direction.

This strategic input formed the foundation of the design brief and led to a user interface that communicates the Institute’s strengths in a confident and sector-leading way.

Result

The finished website transformed the Institute’s digital presence. It showcases the breadth of research, improves clarity for different audiences, and supports stronger connections across academia and industry.

Dynamic tagging and intuitive navigation make it easy for visitors to discover relevant content. A more responsive and accessible mobile experience has increased engagement and time spent on site.

The new platform brings clarity to complex scientific content and provides a strong base for future growth. As the Institute continues to address global health challenges, the website now serves as a gateway to collaboration and innovation.
